About the Dishes
Welsh rarebit
is a Welsh dish consisting of a hot cheese-based sauce served over slices of toasted bread. The word rarebit is a corruption of rabbit, “Welsh rabbit” being first recorded in 1725, and “rarebit” in 1781, although this dish does not consist of any rabbit. For more information, click HERE.
Three onion and ale soup
This onion ale soup is similar to French Onion soup although the Irish beer adds a whole different flavour. It’s chock full of onions, Irish beer and delicious beef flavour.
Shepherd’s Pie
is a ground meat pie with a crust or topping of mashed potato of English origin. The recipe has many variations, but the defining ingredients are ground red meat cooked in a gravy or sauce with onions, and topped with a layer of mashed potato before it is baked. Sometimes other vegetables are added to the filling, such as peas, sweetcorn, celery or carrots. The pie is sometimes also topped with grated cheese to create a layer of melted cheese on top. Banoffee pie
The name of this dessert ts name, sometimes spelled “banoffi”, is a combination the words “banana” and “toffee”.
