Between September 23-27, 2020 Fresh on the Fly offered a Taste of Mexico Take Home Family Meal. It’s a 3 course meal for your family available every Wednesday – Sunday. This meal is suitable for four people and was only $65! Our Taste of Mexico Take Home Family Meal offers traditional Mexican dishes and flavours. This meal is available for pickup from The Arms Public House or delivery from Fresh on the Fly!

This Weeks Take Home Family Style Meal Contains…

Deconstructed fish (haddock) tacos with fresh pico de gallo

House-made pineapple salsa and fresh guacamole with lightly salted and toasted corn chips

Calabaza Moscada con Guiso de Chile Chipotle – “Butternut Squash Chipotle Chili Stew” with red onions, black beans, tomatoes, red peppers, garlic & spices

Cheesy Chicken Enchiladas Tray Bake with onions, green chillies, spices, salt & pepper

Mexican Vegetable Rice with corn, carrots, peas & cilantro

Frozen Margarita Mix from our in-house bartender Mikey Styles’ with cayenne red pepper infused salt

This Taste of Mexico Take Home Family Style Meal is so delicious because of all our fresh and local ingredients!This meal is only $65 and is suitable for 4 people. There is $5 peninsula delivery only on Friday September 25th between 2-5pm. Max 10km delivery radius. Free delivery with a purchase of a bottle of wine or if more than one meal is purchased. 

This meal is available from September 23-27, 2020 with pickup available at The Arms at 1515 South Park Street inside the Lord Nelson Hotel – earlier pick ups can be arranged via email at [email protected]

Cooking / Reheating Instructions

Please be aware that oven temperatures and cooking times will vary by appliance. Preheat oven to 375°F for all dishes.

Enchiladas (uncovered) – 20 minutes

Mexican Veggie Rice (covered) – 20 minutes, sprinkle with water before heating

Butternut Squash Chili Stew (covered) – 20 minutes

Fish (uncovered) – 10 minutes, remove pico de Gallo before heating

Tacos (covered) – 15 minutes

How to Margarita

STEP 1: What you will need: Glassware (small tumbler or rocks glass), ice, your favourite tequila and/or orange liqueur, Styles’ Margarita Mix (frozen) & red pepper salt (also included)

STEP 2:Rim the glass with the cayenne red pepper infused salt in a saucer or small bowl – use a wedge of lime to wet the rim or run under some water

STEP 3:Add ice! Fill almost to the top of the glass.

STEP 4: Pour in 2oz of your favourite tequila (optional: add half an oz per beverage of orange liqueur such as triple secCointreau or Grand Marnier)

STEP 5:Per serving add in 4 tablespoons (1/4 cup) of your Mikey Styles’ Margarita Mix. Kept frozen this house made lime mixture is enough for 4 servings

STEP 6:Stir!
